The year to date seems to have been a whirlwind here at MACS. It doesn't seem so long ago since we welcomed all our partners and customers into the new year.

Given the economic climate, the current focus is on new implementations (for new and existing customers alike) to improve efficiency and KPI monitoring. The drive for increased productivity and easily-accessible information will help our customers manage more effectively against the current economic backdrop.

All in all, with record turnover in the year to 31st March 2008, we continue to expand our team in all areas in order to meet customer requirements and our own internal development programme.

Welcome to 2008, the Chinese year of the rat. Whilst that might sound strange to many, in fact the rat is known as one of the hardest working signs in the Chinese Zodiac. It was welcomed in ancient times as a protector and bringer of material prosperity. For MACS, we hope to build on the success of recent years by continuing to be practical, industrious, honest, versatile, creative and organised on behalf of our customers, old and new. We look forward to a year where we can really enable our customers to protect their businesses and prosper.

It is with pleasure, therefore, that we are pleased to announce the arrival of five new domestic and international customers already this year. With activities spread across manufacturing and own goods distribution, implementations are phased to take place in the first half of this year.

During the last 18 months, a significant amount of background development work has been undertaken to advance our software to the latest technologies. In part, this has involved the underlying source code to be converted to the Microsoft .NET platform (an ongoing project), providing greater versatility and flexibility to our software. With all our systems operating in a Windows 2000 or above environment, greater integration with Microsoft Excel and Word has also been achieved for the benefit of our customers. In addition, our Journey Planning module (for load and journey planning) has been integrated with Microsoft's Mappoint solution to provide a functionally rich, cost effective route management tool. The new, improved Journey Planning solution is scheduled to be installed at one of our clients by July 2007. Finally, our radio frequency systems have also been upgraded to become browser based, operating under Windows CE environments, to increase robustness and manageability.

The temperature has started to rise again, both outside and here at MACS! We're delighted to have been appointed to work with two new customers to help them manage their warehouse operations.

The first is a distributor of ingredients to the food industry. In this environment, batch and sell-by-date control is critical. The system is due to go live at the end of July, some 4 weeks after project approval.

The second is a major house builder located in the south-east of England. A new warehouse will manage the supply of equipment and materials from a central hub to all its building sites. Significant benefits are expected through better purchase order management, greater stock visibility and more accurate supply to meet critical site deadlines. MACS will interface with our customer's AS400 system to ensure a seamless accounting and warehouse management process.

We were pleased to support this worthwhile cause by sponsoring Aarti, who now wishes to repeat the process!!

With another new 3PL customer scheduled to go live this month with an i-MACS driven wms, we are also in the process of upgrading two customers from paper to rf-based MACS systems.

Foodbrokers, Europe's leading "full service" grocery sales, marketing and distribution specialist, has chosen Flancare to distribute its products throughout Ireland.
Flancare, powered by rf-MACS, has worked closely with Foodbrokers to link systems in order to provide greater operational efficiency, real-time information and visibility of the supply chain.

Further, by linking Foodbrokers deliveries to its (MACS developed) Journey Planning module, Flancare has reduced substantially the time taken to load plan, monitor and invoice deliveries.

Ringspun, an emerging brand in urban fashion and a subsidiary of Red Inc., is in the process of delivering significant sales growth.
In order to meet its own growth targets, full visibility of the supply chain became an absolute necessity.
Working with CML plc (Ringspun's chosen third party distributor), MACS designed and developed a totally new internet based solution (which went live in the summer of 2002) to support the growth.
Linked to CML's rf-MACS platform, i-MACS allows access to the global supply chain real-time, all of the time.

Following a significant period of in-house testing, Flancare (Clonmel), an Irish third party distribution company, implemented psi-MACS in October 2002.
The company, which provides national distribution on the emerald isle for over 30 major suppliers using a fleet of 60 trucks and 3 warehouses, has also worked with MACS in developing our new Journey Planning module.
Journey Planning allows Flancare to plan its drivers, routes and loads and helps to monitor delivery performance and pallet management.
By also linking in to Flancare's invoicing processes, a significant amount of manual reconciliation and administration will be eradicated.
